Make A Difference in 2012 Each year, we set aside the first part of January as a time of prayer and fasting. For three weeks, we pause to lay aside physical appetites in favor of spiritual ones. This special time is one of spiritual preparation, renewal and consecration for our lives as we embark upon a new year. The theme for our fast this year is “Make a Difference.” Through prayer and fasting, we can effect a change in our own lives and in those all around us. In fact, Jesus told his followers that certain things can only be changed “through prayer and fasting” (Mark 9:29). I believe God is speaking to us as a church to become difference makers this year, in both prayer and action. What do you want to be different in your life this year? Who’s life can you impact with Christ love in the next twelve months? How can we make a difference in our community in 2012? I am asking you to please fill out the attached commitment card, and join me in prayer and fasting these next 21 days.
